DST offers architectural design and equipment for the preparation and dressing room including embalming equipment and machines, safety equipment, combination exhaust and heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, custom cabinetry, water control units, morgue table receptors, trocar wells, mortuary lifts, operating tables and acrylic accessories to house embalming room supplies. We manufacture our own footend products including receptacles for removal of embalming table waste and water management systems complete with hydro-aspirators. Funeral home preparation rooms must comply with OSHA regulations including OSHA’s mandated standard for occupational exposure to formaldehyde. Standard 29 CR 1910.1048 applies to formaldehyde exposures employees receive due to embalming conducted by funeral homes and morgues. Regulations also apply to the management and disposal of bodily fluids, biohazard, biomedical and other medical waste in the funeral, autopsy and other industry related companies. Our Premier Source design services focus on OSHA compliance in the prep room to achieve a safe and healthful workplace as well as ergonomic layout of the embalming facility. DST is the exclusive distributor in the USA for the PrepAir HVAC embalming room exhaust and ventilation system. Design guidelines for this system are included in our Premier Source design service. CAD drawings and specifications provided as part of this service include a logical effective layout for the preparation room, custom cabinetry drawings, plumbing information and recommendations for floors, walls and ceilings.
